SBP Integrasi Pekan's International Programme - Taiwan

On the 23rd till 30th November 2009, British Council held an international education expo in Taiwan.

This event, brought in partnership with the Ministry of Education Taiwan, is the first of its kind in East Asia where curriculum policy makers, educators, teachers and students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the UK brought together to shape the future of International Education and Global Citizenship for the 21st century.

From Malaysia, there were 12 students represented Malaysia, with their teachers. Nurul Hanis Hashim from SBP Integrasi Pekan was one of the lucky ones that were chosen for this event. Nurul Hanis won Special Award for her essay in the British Council's I'm A Global Citizen Competition. Nurul Hanis was accompanied by the Teacher Coordinator of the programme in SBPI Pekan, Mr Khairil Azwar Razali.

From the MOE, Dato Noor Rezan Bapoo Hashim as the Deputy Director-General represented Malaysia in the meeting of the education policy makers, along with Ms Jagdessh Kaur from Curriculum Development Department, Malaysia. Datin Everlyn Ritikos, the Assistant Director of English Language Unit, Sarawak State Education Department was also there presented a PowerPoint Presentation in Challenges in Creating Global Citizens.
