STJ emerged champion in the Tunku Laxamana Naquiyuddin Debate Challenge Trophy in conjunction with HRH Yang DiPertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan 84th birthday. The team beat SM Agama Sains Kuala Pilah in the final. The motion was 'Malaysia should have only one national car'. STJ was given the role of the opposition. The members of the team were Nisha Amalina Binti Ahmad Akmal (Form 2), Asna Asraf Bin Saedon (Form 5), Siti Fatimah Binti Kamis (Form 3) and Kaveena d/o Rajendran (Form 2). They were under the guidance of En. Hasrul Radzak, En. Shazreen Mohd Shah and En. Zuki Zurozwali Arman Bin Abdul Wahab.
The Regent himself gave away the prizes. The champion received RM750, certificates and the challenge trophy. STJ also walked away with the 'Best Speaker' through Siti Fatimah Kamis and she received RM200 for her feat.
